I’ve written and spoken a good bit on this subject and wanted the most important pieces all easily in one place. All of my blog posts on the subject can also be found under the ‘gay Christianity’ tag.
- This is a training presentation I gave to my presbytery in April 2024 on pastoral care and same-sex identity. The audio for the talk can be listened to here.
- I took the consensus position (and gaps) across the different Reformed and Anglican bodies concerning gay identities and same-sex attraction and assess where these things stand. This turned into my “10 Theses on Same-Sex Attraction and Mortification” which is the distillation of my most significant contribution to this conversation. These theses were also published at the World Reformed Fellowship.
- At the height of the Revoice debate in 2021 I wrote on mortification and cross-bearing.
- I reviewed the CRC’s 2021 report on human sexuality. I gave my assessment about eight months before the report was finally voted on, but I don’t think the final product changed. This was also published at the World Reformed Fellowship.
- This is my brief review of the PCA’s 2020 letter on human sexuality.
- The Westminster Standards and Gay Christianity’s Side B. This article compared how the Side B movement, often associated with the Revoice Conference and the spiritual friendship movement, and the Westminster Confession and Catechisms speak about sin, human nature, and sanctification. It was also published at the World Reformed Fellowship.
- The Westminster Standards and the Nashville Statement. This is an evaluation of how the Westminster Confession and Catechisms and the Nashville Statement on Human Sexuality speak about sin, misery, sanctification, and belonging to the church. It was also published at the World Reformed Fellowship.
